Social Media Reaction Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a different size category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with similar services. The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Modifications Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she said. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
